Free Food, Prizes Available at Spring Football Game

Ryan HeldWeatherford, OK - Fans wanting to get a sneak peek at the 2005 Southwestern Oklahoma State University football team can take a first-hand look Thursday, April 21 at the Annual Blue-White Game. Starting time is set for 7 p.m. at Milam Field on the west end of the SWOSU campus.

New head coach Ryan Held will showcase a revamped offense that promises to be wide open and exciting in its structure. The SWOSU defense, which returns many of its top players from a year ago, also will have a new-look with a greater more emphasis on maintaining an aggressive and physical-style of play.

The simulated game will feature many of the characteristics of an actual game with officials, scoreboard, down-and-distance markers and a public address announcer. Both the Blue and White teams will be divided following the selection of the coaching staff’s mock draft planned for Monday.

The SWOSU Alumni Association is sponsoring a free hot dog and hamburger supper to all fans attending the game beginning at 6 p.m. In addition several door prizes have been collected from Weatherford-area merchants that will be given away to lucky fans.

At halftime the new group of players who signed letters of intent to play at SWOSU in the fall of will be introduced. Recognition will also be given to the winners in the Bulldog’s off-season weight lifting program.

Tickets are free and can be picked up at the following locations: Walgreen’s, Movie Gallery, Quiznos Subs, Mazzios Pizza, Nita’s Ice House and the SWOSU Bookstore.
