Franklin Wins LSC Defensive Award

Weatherford, Oklahoma - Southwestern Oklahoma State University linebacker Greg Franklin was recognized as the Lone Star Conference North Division Defensive Player-of-the-Week in leading the Bulldogs to a 13-10 win over Panhandle State last week.Franklin, a 6-0, 230 pound redshirt freshman, was the game’s top tackler recording five solos and 11 assists for a total of 16. He also had two sacks for losses totaling 17 yards in the game. Franklin and his Bulldog teammates held the Aggies to 37 yards of total offense and no points in the second half.
Franklin transferred to SWOSU after initially signing with LSC rival University of Central Oklahoma . He was a member of back-to-back Class 5A state championship teams at Midwest City ’s Carl Albert High School .
