Spring Football Game Set for April 13

April 7, 2006

Weatherford, OK - Southwestern Oklahoma State football fans can get an early first-hand look at the improved 2006 Bulldog squad during the Annual Blue vs. White Intrasquad Game set for Thursday, April 13. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Milam Field on the west end of the SWOSU campus.

Second-year head coach Ryan Held will unveil a re-tooled offense that promises to have a greater emphasis on establishing a strong, powerful running game. The SWOSU defense, which returns many of its top players from a year ago, also has undergone some fine-tuning to better maintain their aggressive style of play.

The simulated game will feature many of the characteristics of an actual game with officials, scoreboard, down-and-distance markers and a public address announcer. The quarterback will be “live,” meaning they can be tackled as any other player on the team.

Both the Blue and White teams will be divided following the selection of the coach’s mock draft planned for Monday.

Like last year, several door prizes have been collected from Weatherford-area merchants that will be given away to lucky fans throughout the game.

Tickets are free and can be picked up at the following locations: Wallgreen’s, Movie Gallery, Quizno’s Subs, Mazzio’s Pizza, Subway and the SWOSU Bookstore.
