Football Assistant Resigns Position
June 7, 2006

Brett Hauser
WEATHERFORD – The Southwestern Oklahoma State football team has a new priority with the 2006 season just three short months away. The Bulldogs will be looking to find a replacement for veteran assistant coach Brett Hauser.
Athletic Director Cecil Perkins announced Wednesday that Hauser will be stepping down from his role as offensive coordinator to accept an administration position at a school near his former home in Georgetown, Texas.
“Brett’s coaching ability is highly respected around the conference. He brought a wealth of experience and expertise to our football program,” Perkins said. “His connection with Southwestern goes back many years, and I know his decision was a difficult one to make. We wish him and his family nothing but the best in their future endeavors.”
Hauser leaves SWOSU after a two-year stint in which served as both the offensive coordinator for current head coach Ryan Held and former SWOSU coach Paul Sharp. Prior to his arrival at SWOSU he served as an assistant coach at Georgetown’s Stoney Point High School. He also had a pair of successful stints as an assistant at fellow Lone Star Conference schools Texas A&M Kingsville and the University of Central Oklahoma.
“We are very appreciative of what Brett did for our football program. He helped lay the groundwork both as a recruiter and a coach for what should be successful seasons to come,” Held said. “It is our intention to find someone who will continue to move us forward in the Lone Star Conference.”
