Blue White Game Set for April 26
April 12, 2007
WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Southwestern Oklahoma State football fans can get an early peek at the new-look 2007 Bulldog squad during the annual Blue vs. White Intrasquad Game set for Thursday, April 26. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Milam Field on the west end of the SWOSU campus.
Like previous years, several door prizes have been collected from Weatherford-area merchants that will be given away to lucky fans throughout the game. Tickets to Oklahoma RedHawks baseball games and Oklahoma Yard Dawgz football games will also be given away.
Free soft drinks and hot dogs will be provided courtesy of the SWOSU Athletic Association for those in attendance.
Third-year head coach Ryan Held welcomes back 19 of 22 starters from a squad that finished 6-5 in 2006. Those starters, along with the handful of players who spent last year as a redshirt and promising group of newcomers, are bound to create considerable competition across the board. Held and his staff have spent the spring working to establishing a more consistent running game to compliment an offense that is certainly expected to have its fair share of firepower. The SWOSU defense, which returns many of its top players from a year ago, also has undergone some fine-tuning to maintain their aggressive style of play.
The simulated game will feature many of the characteristics of an actual game with officials, scoreboard, down-and-distance markers and a public address announcer.
