Wilkinson Begins To Shine
October 16, 2007
Freshman wide receiver Tyler Wilkinson was SWOSU's offensive star against Southeastern Oklahoma State University. The Amarillo, Texas native caught four passes for 74 yards and had scoring catches of 31and 25 yards.
Both TD catches were anything but typical. The first was a sliding endzone catch from quarterback Jimmy Sangster. The second, a 25-yard catch from quarterback Steve Day, was made while a defender was draped on top of him.
Wilkinson has begun his climb up the school's receiving charts and now stands fourth on the team with 98 yards receiving on seven catches. His two TD's against Southeastern are the first time since teammate Johnathan Haggerty had two TD catches on Oct. 21, 2006 against Northeastern State University.
