RICHARDSON, Texas – Southwestern Oklahoma State University had 11 players selected to either the first or second team All-Lone Star Conference North Division football team, including two players that were recognized as the best in their category.

Senior linebacker Ruzell McCoy and freshman running back Luke Lundy were chosen as the top players at their position while wide receiver Kyle Wimberly, tight end Joe Sawyer, guard Jerrod Hunt and linebacker Jaron Burgess completed the first team selections.

McCoy, a native of Frederick, was a repeat selection to the first team and was voted as the co-linebacker of the year along with K.C. Asiodu of Central Oklahoma. McCoy led SWOSU in tackles with 107 and topped the entire LSC with 20 tackles for losses totaling 64 yards. McCoy ended his career with 49 stops behind the line of scrimmage, the most ever by a SWOSU defender.

He led the team in rushing with 552 yards despite appearing in just nine games. He also caught 20 passes for 210 yards and finished with 762 all-purpose yards, the most on the team.

Wimberly, a senior from Indianapolis, Ind., set a school record by catching 51 passes this season for 678 yards. He had two games in which he caught passes for more than 100 yards and finished tied for the team lead in touchdowns with five.
