Michael Bond took over the direction of the men's and women's golf programs at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 2004 when longtime coach Cecil Perkins stepped aside and resumed his athletic director duties on a full-time basis.

A Broken Bow native, Bond graduated from SWOSU 2000 with a degree in marketing. He returned to SWOSU in 2002 as the school's sports information director and obtained his master's degree in education. As SID, Bond was a member of CoSIDA and served on the NCAA Legislative Liason Committee.

In Bond’s first year as coach, the men’s team were ranked in the NCAA Division II Top 25 and qualified for the NCAA Super Regional in Valdosta, GA.

Bond is a member of both the GCAA and NGCA and teaches classes in the school's sports administration program.

He and his wife, Amy, are the parents of a young daughter, Maddilyn.
