DUNCAN – Southwestern Oklahoma State’s Greg Koch has qualified for a berth in the NCAA Division II South/South Central Super Regional thanks to his outstanding play during the recently completed golf season.

Koch, a senior from Burkburnett, Texas, joins over 90 golfers from a field of 16 teams that will compete at the newly built Territory Golf Club in Duncan, Okla. The top two teams from each region and the highest placing individual not among those teams will advance on to the NCAA Division II national championships scheduled for next month in West Virginia.

Koch has played the Territory Course in tournaments in each of the last two years. He finished in 12th place at the Territory Classic with a four-over par score of 148. In 2005, he turned in a second-day 69 (-3) and finished two-over par 146 at the same event.

Koch has been SWOSU’s top golfer this year with two top five finishes and five top 10 finishes. He has been low SWOSU player in five of eight tournaments this year and carries a 73.3 stroke average. His best finish was a second-place effort at the ACU Charles Coody Classic when he finished one-over par.
