April 18, 2007
DALLAS, Texas – Southwestern Oklahoma State University made up considerable ground in the final round but could not pull itself out of 10th place in the Lone Star Conference Men’s Golf Championships. The two-day, 54-hole tournament was completed Tuesday at Bear Creek Golf Club in Dallas, Texas.
SWOSU fired a final round 304, which was bettered only by four other teams, in tough conditions that included a steady drizzle throughout play. Still back-to-back 311’s on the first day left the Bulldogs scrambling to catch the rest of the field.
Northeastern State claimed its third consecutive LSC championship in a walk away shooting 285, 286 and 296 for a three-over part score of 867, 17 strokes ahead of second-place Central Oklahoma.

SWOSU’s top finisher was Pat McCarthy who finished in a tie for 19th with a +11 score of 227. McCarthy had an opening 73 that put him in a tie for seventh at one point.
Other SWOSU golfers and their finish are as follows: Landon Ewing and Jace Weaver shared 33rd with a +17 over 233, Luke Phillips was 39th with +18, 234 and Scott Kulczycki was 44th with a +24, 240.
