Blue-Gray Golf Cup Planned

A unique event that will see current members of the Southwestern Oklahoma State University men’s varsity golf team challenge former Bulldog players is beginning to take shape.

The Blue Gray Cup will be over a two-day setting beginning with a social planned on the evening of Friday, Aug. 17. The actual golf competition begins Saturday, Aug. 18 at Sugar Creek Canyon Golf Club in Hinton. The tournament, co-sponsored by the Bank of Western Oklahoma, will be played in a style similar to the popular Ryder Cup matches complete with welcome ceremony, team captains, and exciting point system.

More than two dozen former Bulldogs have already registered for the event. Some will be traveling from bordering states to compete in the fun and exciting weekend, SWOSU Coach Michael Bond said.

The weekend will begin with a social event in the SWOSU Student Center Ballroom on Friday night followed by rounds of golf, a skills challenge and a long drive contest.  Those wishing to participate may register online at the link provided. http://www.bluegraycup.com/
