April 28, 2008

RICHARDSON, Texas – Southwestern Oklahoma State University had two golfers selected to the all-conference team announced last week at the Lone Star Conference Championships. Pat McCarthy was a first-team selection while teammate Scott Kulczycki was recognized on the second team. Both golfers were recognized for their achievement at the annual pre-tournament banquet.

McCarthy, a senior from London, England, had six top 10 finishes in SWOSU’s 10 tournaments. He finished fourth or better in three tournaments and his stroke average of 73.2 was best on the team.

Kulczycki, a junior from Saskatchewan, Canada, had a strong spring campaign that included four top 10 finishes. He ended the year with a 73.9 scoring average which ranked him second on the team.

Central Oklahoma’s Cody Shrum was the leading vote-getter on the men’s first team All-LSC group. He was joined by Northeastern State’s Sam Powell, Cameron’s Peter Svajlen, Texas A&M-Commerce’s Blake Worden and McCarthy.
