McCarthy Earns All-Region

May 16, 2008

NORMAN, Okla. – Southwestern Oklahoma State University golfing star Pat McCarthy added another honor to his growing list of accomplishments. The London, England senior was recognized along with nine other golfers to the Division II PING All-Region Team.

The team was selected by members of the Golf Coaches Association of America all-region committee. Any player ranked in the top 50 of the final Golfstat individual ranking is automatically added to his all-region team.  Members of the PING All-Region teams are eligible for PING All-America honors.

McCarthy already earned first-team, all-conference honors and finished 10th or better in eight different tournaments for the Bulldogs. He had the lowest stroke average on the team at 73.0 and led the Bulldogs to a berth in the regional golf tournament.

He transferred to SWOSU in 2006 after playing two seasons at Paris Junior College in Texas.
