Women Finish 7th at WTAM Meet

Amarillo, TX - Southwestern Oklahoma State finished its last women’s golf tournament prior to the season-ending Lone Star Conference Championship with a seventh-place finish at the West Texas A&M Invitational. The two-day, 36-hole tournament completed Tuesday at Amarillo’s Tascosa Country Club.SWOSU turned in rounds of 357 and 369 to finish at 719, 88 strokes behind eventual winner Western New Mexico. A total of 10 teams and 59 golfers participated in the event.
Central Oklahoma’s Ashley Kelly won the individual medalist honors in a playoff against WNMU’s Katharine Dorris. Both had a combined two round total of eight-over par scores of 152.
Megan Eichman was SWOSU’s top finisher after rounds of 84 and 87 left her 27 strokes over par and in a tie for 18th place. Other SWOSU scores are as follows: Michelle Campbell in 31st with rounds of 90 and 90 for a 180 (+36), Tasha Marshall in 33rd with rounds of 91 and 91 for a 182 (+38), Lauren Degan in 37th with a 92 and 94 for a 186 (+42) and Jennifer Aviles in 48th with a 94 and 99 for a 193 (+49).
