SWOSU's Rainey Posts 73, Finishes 17th

GRANBURY, Texas Southwestern Oklahoma State University’s Jaryn Rainey posted a season-best score of one-over par, 73, in the final round of the Tarleton State Coca-Cola Classic. Rainey’s second-day score, along with a first round 81, was good enough to place her in a 17th place tie at 154, +10 over par.
The 36-hole tournament was completed Tuesday at the Harbury Lakes Golf and Country Club in Granbury, Texas. A total of 87 golfers from 17 colleges and junior colleges competed in the event.
SWOSU as a team finished 13th with a total of 679 after rounds of 345 and 334. St. Edward’s won with a 599 followed by McLennan Community College in second-place at 605.
Individual honors went to Fiona Smith of Lon Morris Community College who finished at 146 (+2) after rounds of 70 and 76.
Other SWOSU golfers and their finishes are as follows: Tasha Marshall in 60th place with a +25 over par score of 169, Jennifer Aviles in 72nd at +33, 177, Chelsea Dupus in 77th at +37, 181 and Lauren Degan in 80th at +41, 185.
The women, under the direction of coach Michael Bond, will next play at the Oklahoma Intercollegiate beginning Monday, Oct. 16 at the Lawton Golf and Country Club.
