Women Finish 7th at LSC

DALLAS, Texas – Southwestern Oklahoma State University put together back-to-back rounds of 368 and 368 to finish in seventh-place at the Lone Star Conference Golf Women’s Golf Championship that completed Tuesday at Bear Creek Golf Club in Dallas, Texas.

Cameron won it’s first-ever LSC title with a riveting close to edge Central Oklahoma by one stroke with 642.  The Aggies shot 332 in the second round after leading by nine strokes when the day began.  UCO’s Mari Suursalu shot seven-over for two rounds to claim medalist honors, one stroke ahead of Jenel Bailey of Cameron

A total of seven teams and 34 golfers competed at the event.

SWOSU’s top finisher was Jaryn Rainey who finished in a tie for 13th with a +15 score of 169. Rainey began the final round in ninth place after an opening-day 81. However, she slipped four spots with a 88 on Tuesday.

Other SWOSU golfers and their finish are as follows: Jennifer Aviles and Tasha Marshall shared 29th with a +38 over, 182, Chelsea Dupus was 52nd with +18, 196 and Laruen Degan was 61st with a +61, 205.
