Marshall in Third Place

EDMOND, Okla. – Southwestern Oklahoma State University’s Tasha Marshall found herself in the hunt for the individual lead after the first round of play at the University of Central Oklahoma Invitational. Marshall, a senior from Clinton, shot a 75 and is just two strokes off the pace set by UCO’s Emily Leahey and St. Edward’s Kirby Baker.The tournament concludes Tuesday with another 18 holes at the Fairfax Golf Club in Edmond.
St. Edwards is the first-round leader thanks in part to Baker’s 73. The Hilltoppers shot a 308, three strokes better than Central Oklahoma’s 311. A total of 10 teams and 59 golfers are participating in the event.
The remainder of the SWOSU team did not have as much success as Marshall in the windy conditions. The Bulldogs shot a 357 and found themselves in 10th place, seven strokes behind East Central who is in ninth.
Other SWOSU golfers and their scores are as follows: Ashley Underwood is in 47th with a 92, Katy Webster is 52nd with a 94, Lisa Roche is 54th with a 96 and Amber Henderson is 55th with a 98.
