Women Place 9th at LSC

THACKERVILLE, Okla. - Southwestern Oklahoma State University finished in ninth place at the Lone Star Conference women's golf championship. The Bulldogs followed an opening day 353 with a 363 and finished with a 716. The two-day, 36-hole tournament was concluded Tuesday at the WinStar Golf Club with nine teams and 44 golfers competing in the event.

Tarleton State led from start to finish en route to its third conference title. The TexAnns clinched back-to-back titles with a 4-over par 292 in the second round.  Andrea Lowe led the winning effort while finishing tied for second at even par (144).

Central Oklahoma junior Cassy Knight was the medalist at 1-under (143) after recording an even par final round of 72.  Right behind her was Lowe and Angelo State 's Raelyn Smith at even par 144 over 36 holes.

NSU finished second in the team standings with a team total of 606, while West Texas A&M was third with a 608 followed by UCO (613) and first-year program ASU (614).

SWOSU's top finisher was Tasha Marshall who placed 35th. She carded scores of 81 and 85 for a 166 total. Other SWOSU finishers are as follows: Amber Henderson was 38th with a 83-87-170; Krystal Marshall was 43rd with a 90-95-195 and Chelsei Vowelll was 44th with a 99-96-195.
