Men Take 7th at Ft. Scott Rodeo

FT. SCOTT, Kan. – The Southwestern Oklahoma State University men placed seventh in its most recent outing at Ft. Scott Community College Rodeo completed Sunday.

SWOSU finished with 205 points, well-behind first-place Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s total of 690 points. Oklahoma Panhandle State University was third with 565 points and the host, Ft. Scott was third with 355 points.

Dusty Gracia was SWOSU’s top point producer thanks to his solid effort in the bareback riding event. Gracia won the long round with an 82-point ride then tied for fifth in the short round. His scores were good enough to place him second in the average.

Matt Flemming collected points in steer wrestling. He finished sixth in the long round but did not place in the short round or average.

Finally, Dustin England and Jesse Jackson each were among the best bull riders at the rodeo. England had an 82-point ride in the long round to finish second. He did not score in the short round and finished third in the average. Jackson was fifth in the long round and finished fifth in the average.

SWOSU’s next rodeo will begin April 5 at Oklahoma Panhandle State University.
