Men Finish 5th at NWOSU

ALVA, Okla. – The Southwestern Oklahoma State University men concluded their fall rodeo season with a fifth place finish at the Northwestern Oklahoma State University rodeo in Alva.
SWOSU collected 220 team points to finish just behind Fort Scott who placed fourth with 245 points. Oklahoma Panhandle State University was the easy winner collecting 755 points, finishing well ahead of the second-place hosts, NWOSU with 585 points. Southeastern Oklahoma State University was third with 440 points.
Dusty Gracia was the top point producer for SWOSU finishing third in the average in bareback riding. Gracia, a senior from Leedey, had a 77-point ride in the short round which earned him second place.
Other SWOSU cowboys who scored points in the event ware as follows:
Wade Payne finished fourth in the bronc riding after splitting third and fourth-place in the average.
Spenser Mitchell, along with his partner Ty Smith from Western Oklahoma State College, placed fifth in the team roping event. The two finished in a two-way tie for fourth in the long run and won fifth outright in the short run.
