Ellingson, Beagley Lead SWOSU to 3rd Place Finish

CASPER, WYO – Southwestern Oklahoma State climbed to a third-place finish at the College National Finals Rodeo after a pair of strong performances by Sarah Ellingson and Martha Beagley. SWOSU began the final round in seventh place but made up considerable ground on the last day.
SWOSU finished with 310 points trailing only Weber State University (512.5) and National American University (375) in the race for the team championship.
Ellingson finished third overall in barrel racing and collected a total of 220 points. She had the fastest run of the rodeo with a blistering 14.39 turned in during the final round. Her total time of 58.55 seconds on four rides was only two tenths of a second behind the eventual winner.
Beagley finished fifth overall in goat tying with a combined time of 30.7 seconds on four attempts. Her consistent times of 8.4, 7.4, 7.1, 7.8 led to 90 points in the team total for SWOSU.
