Women Fifth at K-State Rodeo

MANHATTAN, Kansas -- Southwestern Oklahoma State University collected team points from both Brittany Wiedel and Britney Edmondson to help the Bulldogs to a fifth-place finish at the Kansas State University Rodeo in Manhattan, Kan.
Wiedel finished third in the average in the goat-tying event after placing fourth in the long run and third in the short run.
Edmondson was among three SWOSU competitors that made it into the top 10 in breakaway roping. Edmondson shared fifth and sixth place in the long round and ended up sixth in the average. Teammate Michelle Peeples finished sixth in the long round but did not place in the average. Jenna Lee Hays made it back for the final rounds of competition but did not place in either the long or short round.
Southeastern Oklahoma State University won the team title with 385 points. They were followed by Bacone College in second with 260 points, Panhandle State University was third with 190 points and Pratt Community College was fourth with 155 points. SWOSU finished in fifth with 120 points.
The women will next compete at the Garden City Community College Rodeo in Garden City, Kan.
