Outhier Wins Again
October 13, 2008
PRATT, Kan. - Southwestern Oklahoma State University cowgirl Amy Outhier captured her second straight goat tying competition in as many tries, winning at the Pratt Community College Rodeo that was completed over the weekend.
Outhier, a freshman from Weatherford, turned in a time of 8.4 seconds in the long round to finish in second place. She then put together an 8.2 effort in the short round to win the round and the overall average. Earlier this month, she won the same competition in her first collegiate rodeo at Colby Community College.
Outhier’s efforts were enough to pull the Bulldogs into second place in the team standings with 170 points. Northwestern Oklahoma State University won its second straight rodeo with 435 points. Oklahoma State was third with 115 points.
SWOSU will complete its fall rodeo season Nov. 6-8 at NWOSU in Alva.
