Women Place 6th at NWOSU

ALVA, Okla. -- The Southwestern Oklahoma State University women wrapped up their fall rodeo season by finishing in sixth place at the Northwestern Oklahoma State University rodeo in Alva.SWOSU collected 95 team points to finish just behind Rogers State who placed fifth with 105 points. Oklahoma Panhandle State University was the winner collecting 465 points, finishing ahead of the second-place hosts, NWOSU with 330 points. Ft. Hays State was third with 160 points followed by Connors State with 120 points in fourth.
Lori Tierney was the top point producer for SWOSU finishing fourth in the average in goat tying. Tierney placed fourth in the short round and finished fourth in the average. Her two times totaled 14.6 seconds
Weatherford’s Amy Outhier, who had won the two previous rodeos in goat tying, did not place in the short round after splitting second and third in the long round. Outhier’s two times totaled 17.9 seconds.
SWOSU also got a solid effort by Brittany Wiedel who finished fifth in the average in barrel racing. Wiedel split fifth and sixth in the long run and placed fifth in the short run. Wiedel’s two runs totaled 26.9 seconds, less than a half second behind the overall winner.
