Women Finish 4th at OPSU

Oklahoma Panhandle State University rodeo. The Bulldogs and the hosts, OPSU, each totaled 110 points.

Northwestern Oklahoma State University won the team competition with 455 points. Garden City Community College was second with 190 points followed by Western Oklahoma State College in third with 125 points.

Brittany Wiedel was the top point producer for the SWOSU team as she finished third in the goat tying average. Wiedel had a third-place effort in the long run and followed it with a fourth-place showing in the short run.

One other SWOSU cowgirl, Riley Drury, advanced to the short round in her event. Drury finished in a two-way tie for third in the breakaway roping competition. She did not place later in the short run or the average.

SWOSU will next compete at its own rodeo beginning Thursday, April 9 at the Don Mitchell Arena in Weatherford.
