SWOSU Falls to Northwestern, Record Dips to 2-3

September 15, 2005

Weatherford, OK - Southwestern Oklahoma State peppered Northwestern Oklahoma State early and often with a barrage of shots but too few found the back of the net as the Bulldogs lost 3-2 in a women’s soccer game Thursday in Alva.

SWOSU (2-3) outshot the Rangers 16-10 but had two of their shots cleared away at the last moment by NWOSU’s backline defense.

Chelsea Edwards had two goals for the Bulldogs, the first of which came just before half on an assist by teammate Jamie Hilterbran. Edward’s goal at the 43 minute mark tied the game at 1-1.

NWOSU built a 3-1 lead in the second half thanks to goals by Sherina Wood and Ilisha Hall before SWOSU ended the game’s scoring with Edwards’ second goal in the 81 st minute.

SWOSU returns home for its next game when it hosts Southern Nazarene University Monday, Sept. 19 at 5 p.m
