Hyneman's Goal Lifts SWOSU to 1-0 Victory

September 21, 2005

Weatherford, OK - Southwestern Oklahoma State won its final tune-up before beginning Lone Star Conference play with a 1-0 victory over visiting Southern Nazarene in women’s soccer action Monday.

Ashley Hyneman’s nifty header at the 52-minute mark was all the scoring that SWOSU would need in lifting their overall record to 3-3 on the year. Hyneman took a crossing pass from teammate Kristin Metevelis and bounced it into the back of the net.

The Bulldogs outshot SNU 18-8 and kept the Crimson Storm on the defensive throughout much of the game. SWOSU goalkeeper Lindsey Crook needed to stop only two shots on goal.

SWOSU begins league play Friday when they visit East Central and continue on the road with a Sunday game at Northeastern State .

SWOSU’s next home game is Friday, Oct. 14 against Texas A&M-Commerce.
