Texas A%26M-Commerce Blanks SWOSU, 4-0

Weatherford, OK - Southwestern Oklahoma State was unable to generate much of an offensive threat and were beaten by Texas A&M-Commerce, 4-0, in women’s soccer action Friday in Weatherford.

The Bulldogs slipped to 6-6 overall and 1-3 in Lone Star Conference play after the loss while TAMC improved to 7-5-1 overall and 2-3-1 in the league.

TAMC got a pair of goals by Melissa DoRemus and added two more for good measure to raise their winning streak to eight straight over the Bulldogs. DoRemus scored the game’s first goal in the 33rd minute taking a pass from teammate Erin de Wolf and beating SWOSU keeper Lindsey Crook in a scramble in front of the goal.

DoRemus next goal game in the first minute of the second half in which she scored off a Melissa Arnold pass. TAMC’s Bailey Geels and Heidi Eichinger scored within seven minutes of each other later to complete the game’s scoring.

SWOSU managed 10 shots on the Lions’ defense three of which had to be saved by goalkeeper Stacey McDaniel. Meanwhile, the Lions took 14 shots at SWOSU with nine of them being on goal.
