Weatherford, OK - Southwestern Oklahoma State is looking at its best chance of making the Lone Star Conference postseason women’s soccer tournament in the school’s brief eight-year history of the sport. The Bulldogs host Angelo State Friday and conclude the regular season Sunday at home against Midwestern State.

SWOSU, under the leadership of Coach Joe Bradley, is 7-8-1 on the year and in a two-way tie for eighth in the league standings. The top six teams advance to the postseason tournament set to begin Thursday, Nov. 10 at Central Oklahoma.

SWOSU could finish as high as fourth if it were to sweep the two LSC foes. Even with a 1-1 split, the Bulldogs could still wind up finishing sixth depending on the outcomes of other league games this week.

“We’ve had some good practices and the girls our feeling pretty good about their chances,” Bradley said. “We match up well with both Angelo and Midwestern State. It’s up to us. We’re in control of our own destiny and that’s all anyone could want.”

SWOSU played ASU to a scoreless, double-overtime tie a year ago in San Angelo, Texas. Midwestern State was a 2-1 victory last year in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Game time for the Friday ASU game is at 4 p.m. The Saturday MSU game is at 2 p.m. Admission is free and the games will be played at the SWOSU Athletic Complex located north of campus.
