Bulldogs Fall at Oklahoma Christian

EDMOND –Southwestern Oklahoma State stayed with unbeaten Oklahoma Christian for most of the game before yielding two late goals and losing 3-1 in women’s soccer Thursday in Edmond.

Oklahoma Christian, owners of a 7-0 record, broke open a 1-1 tie in the 60th minute on a goal by Taryn Caylor and added another for insurance in the 84th minute by Jessica Ortman.

SWOSU, which fell to 3-5-1 with the loss, tied the game in the 55th minute on a goal by Carrie Dumbauld. The goal for Dumbauld was her team-leading sixth of the year.

Oklahoma Christian managed 16 shots against SWOSU defense, 11 of which were on goal. The Bulldogs had 12 shots, six of which were on goal.

SWOSU will next play at home Friday, Sept. 29 against Colorado State-Pueblo. Start time is set for 5 p.m.
