WEATHERFORD – Southwestern Oklahoma State University scored early, often and just about at will, breezing past the visiting Thunderwolves of Colorado State University-Pueblo in a women’s soccer game Friday in Weatherford.

The victory snapped what had been a five-game winless streak for the Bulldogs and improved their overall record to 4-5-1.

CSU-P dropped to 4-7-1. SWOSU stars Carrie Dumbauld and Robin Kluck continued to supply the offensive firepower for the Bulldogs while teammate Chelse Edwards provided some spark of her own in the six-goal outburst. All three scored two goals as the Bulldogs battered the Thunderwolves into submission.

Dumbauld, the team’s leading goal scorer this year, opened the scoring in the seventh minute taking a pass from Cherilyn Pritchett and knocking home her fifth goal of the season. Dumbauld would score her second goal of the game later in the 48th minute off a pass from Jamie Hilterbran to make it 4-0.

Edward’s two goals game in the 38th minute and the last one in the 69th minute long after the outcome had been settled. The goals were her second and third of the season.

SWOSU will next play at home Sunday afternoon against New Mexico Highlands. Start time is set for 2 p.m.
