Soccer Team Plans Fundraiser

Members of the Southwestern Oklahoma State University soccer team will play a marathon intrasquad game Saturday, March 10 as part of the group's Soccer-A-Thon. The day-long event is designed to raise money that would eventually lead to expanded scholarship opportunities, assist with travel and meal costs and also make improvements on the existing facilities.

Head coach Joe Bradley said the goal for the Soccer-A-Thon is to raise $6,000. Some of the projects in which the money could also fund would be adding team shelters, backstop nets behind goals, improve the surface of the playing field and a video reviewing stand.

"We are encouraging people to pledge $1 for every five minutes of action," Bradley said. "We will play up to 150 minutes. So the total cost would be $30 per person. Any size of donation is greatly appreciated"
