WEATHERFORD, Okla. -- Southwestern Oklahoma State University’s soccer team put together a spirited second-half effort against Colorado State-Pueblo but could not to overcome a lackluster first half in which the Bulldogs dug a deep hole and wound up losing 4-0 Sunday.

SWOSU’s record slipped to 0-4 on the year while the Thunderwolves improved to 1-2 with the win. The Bulldogs nearly matched CSU-P kick-for-kick taking 13 shots on goal while the visitors came away with 13.

Freshmen Elyse Berta, Andrea Howington and Terra Santistevan combined for nine of SWOSU’s 13 total shots.

CSU-P took the advantage from the outset scoring 22 seconds into the game when Robin Hayes took a pass from Sarah Deziel and got past the Bulldog defense and found an open net.
