WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Southwestern Oklahoma State University was unable to keep pace with the hot hitting bats swung by visiting rival Southeastern Oklahoma State University losing the first game of a softball doubleheader Tuesday in Weatherford by an 11-3 score.

The second game was suspended in the top of the fifth inning with Southeastern leading 4-1 when a rain storm swept through the area. The game will be resumed Saturday when the two teams complete their four-game series prior to the scheduled doubleheader in Durant.

The loss dropped SWOSU to 14-18 overall and 4-9 in the Lone Star Conference North Division while the Savage Storm improved to 20-21 and 3-10 in division play.

Southeastern jumped to an early 5-0 lead thanks in part to a four-run second inning against Bulldog starter Alli Flaman. The big hit in the inning was a two-out, three-run home run by leadoff hitter Ashley Graham.

SOSU eventually expanded its lead to 11-1 after a five-run fifth before the Bulldogs managed a pair of runs in the final at bat in the fifth on RBI hits by Keri Glidewell and Flaman.
