Bulldogs Bury Aggies, Win 3-0

Goodwell – Southwestern Oklahoma State continued its volleyball mastery over Oklahoma Panhandle State dispatching the Aggies in a 3-0 lopsided match Tuesday in Goodwell. The Bulldogs won by scores of 30-25, 30-16 and 30-11 and improved to 6-11 on the year. The win was SWOSU’s fifth in as many meetings against the Aggies.
Kasandra Gurtner (Jr, Cimarron, Kan.) continued her high level of play registering 17 kills in 25 attempts with only one error -- an amazing .640 attack percentage. Teammate Tennesee Brown (Jr., Peaster, Texas) also posted double figure kill figures with 12 in 16 attempts with only two errors
SWOSU as a team hit a season high .365 percentage while limiting Panhandle State to just .107.
Defensively, SWOSU was led by Paula Harry (Jr., Australia) with 14 digs while Amanda Ortega (Sr., Amarillo) and Madalyn Cummins (So., Norman) each came up with nine.
The Bulldogs will next play Thursday against Lone Star Conference North favorite Central Oklahoma in Edmond and Saturday against Cameron in Lawton. SWOSU’s next home game will be Tuesday, Sept. 26 against Southern Nazarene.
