SWOSU Stumbles at Cameron, 3-0

Lawton – Southwestern Oklahoma State played better statistically but were still unable to match the high level set by its opponent in a 3-0 loss to Cameron in a volleyball match Saturday in Lawton. Cameron won by game scores of 30-23, 30-24, 30-22 and improved to 14-1 overall and 4-0 in the LSC North. The Bulldogs, losers of two straight, are now 6-13 overall and 1-3 in the LSC North.

TennesseeBrown (Jr., Peaster, Texas) was the leader of the SWOSU offensive attack finishing with 12 kills in 24 attempts and only three errors. She had an attack percentage of .375 and was the top Bulldog hitter. SWOSU finished with a .142 attack percentage, a considerable improvement from their negative effort against Central Oklahoma in their last outing.

Defensively, Paula Harry (Jr., Australia) came up with 13 digs and had two block assists for the Bulldogs.

Coach Bo Pagliasotti played 13 different Bulldogs in the contest, the most of any time this year.

Cameron, which finished hitting as a team at .324, was led by Taran Turner with 16 kills and Fernanda Queiroz with 12.

SWOSU’s next game will be at home Tuesday against Southern Nazarene. Start time is at 7 p.m. at Rankin Williams Fieldhouse.
