WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Southwestern Oklahoma State University made short work of visiting St. Gregory’s easily dispatching the Lady Cavs in three lopsided games. SWOSU won by scores of 30-17, 30-7, 30-9 in a one-sided match that took less than an hour to complete.

The win improved the Bulldogs to 5-5 on the year while St. Gregory’s remained winless in its first five matches. SWOSU will next play four matches during a Friday-Saturday festival at Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas.

SWOSU steamrolled St. Gregory’s by hitting at a .440 clip putting together 46 kills against only nine errors in 84 attempts. Senior Kasandra Gurtner continued her red-hot play scorching the Lady Cavs with 15 kills against only two errors.

Paula Harry was next with nine kills while Amber Coles and Staci West each tallied six.

St. Gregory’s had only 17 kills in the three games, 29 fewer than SWOSU. The Lady Cavs hit .027 and had only one game, the first in which they hit in positive territory.

Defensively, SWOSU played back and allowed the Lady Cavs to attack. SWOSU finished the game with only one block solo and rarely challenged STG at the net.
