Kaufman Wins LSC Award
October 1, 2007
RICHARDSON, Texas – Southwestern Oklahoma State University volleyball player Kristen Kaufman was recognized by the Lone Star Conference as one of two players to be awarded setter-of-the-week honors.
Kaufman, a sophomore from Bedford, Texas, helped the Bulldogs to a 2-0 week which included wins over Mid America Christian University and Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
Kaufman had 78 assists in the two matches and averaged just over 11 assists in the seven games.
“Kristen has been doing a really good job for us,” SWOSU coach Bo Pagliasotti said. “She’s reading the defense well and has caused us to have a lot of success.”
Kaufman is currently ranked sixth in the LSC in assist, averaging 10.7 per game. She is the second SWOSU player to be recognized by the league office. Janna Green was named defensive player-of-the-week earlier this year.
