Spring Tournament Dates Set
February 20, 2008
WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Southwestern Oklahoma State University will play in three spring volleyball tournaments as the Bulldogs take advantage of NCAA rules that allow them up to four dates of competition in the off season.
SWOSU coach Bo Pagliasotti said he expects to have eight players participating in the spring drills and scheduled tournaments.
“We graduated seven players from last year’s team so it is important that this group of returners form a tight on-court bond.” Pagilasotti said.
Off-season workouts begin for SWOSU in late February and the group will have about four weeks before their first tournament on March 29 at Oklahoma City University.
“I like the Spring season and the atmosphere surrounding it,” Pagliasotti said. “Our schedule is all tournaments, so we get to play against a lot of teams with different styles in a short span of time. This really allows us to fine tune our offense and defensive in game-type situations.”
The Bulldogs will host their own tournament Saturday, April 5. Teams scheduled to compete at the SWOSU tournament are Oklahoma City University, NOC-Enid, Southeastern Oklahoma State, Cameron, Oklahoma Panhandle, West Texas A&M and Paris Junior College
SWOSU will conclude its spring season with a tournament at the University of Central Oklahoma on Saturday, April 12 in Edmond.
