Department Goals
- To train professional biologists for career opportunities in industry and government
- To provide students the pre-professional training required for entrance into schools of medicine, veterinary medicine, dentistry, optometry, physical therapy, dental hygiene, nursing, and public health
- To prepare students for entry into the teaching profession
- To prepare students for graduate study in the biological sciences
- To assist students desiring to minor in the biological sciences
- To give students in general education a basic understanding of biological principles
