Tena Nance Exhibition

Event Description
Tena Nance, long time resident of Geary, Oklahoma, will present her artwork in the Southwestern Oklahoma State University Art Department Gallery on the Weatherford campus from October 16th through the October 30th. An opening reception will be held Tuesday, October 16th from 4:00-7:00pm.

Mrs. Nance has been an artist for over 30 years. She was commissioned to paint Christmas cards for 3 years for Bishop Leon Stewart of the Pentecostal Holiness Church, headquartered in Oklahoma City. The same cards were also featured in an international monthly circulation magazine, ‘Advocate.’ In addition, Mrs. Nance has won numerous local awards including but not limited to the Blaine County Free Fair, Geary Tri County Fair, and in other areas such as El Reno and Cordell. The Blaine County Court House has also had the privilege of featuring Mrs. Nance artwork in their elevator room. She currently has a painting displayed in the Commissioner’s Room there as well.

The SWOSU Art Gallery is located in the Art Building and is open to the public for free. Gallery hours are 8:00am-5:00pm Monday through Friday.
