WOMA Meeting set for Nov. 17th
- November 17th, 2003
- by: Paul Walenciak
Chicago Rawhide will host the Western Oklahoma Manufacturers' Association (WOMA) November meeting on November 17 in Hobart. We have a very full program and will start the meeting at 6:45 P.M. at Roy's Backyard BBQ restaurant and then go to Chicago Rawhide from there. Everyone is invited to arrive early at Roy's (~6:00) to eat and network. We have also invited Bill Cunningham (the MEA in Southwestern Oklahoma) and the manufacturers in his area to join us. This is a good opportunity to meet some new people. Roy's is located on Highway 183, North of the Highway 9 intersection.
Dr. Lessley Price, the Director of SWOSU's Center for Distance Learning will provide us with information on the educational programs that are available to rural communities around Oklahoma. Dr. Price partners with manufacturers and communities throughout Western Oklahoma to meet their training and educational needs. At the request of Chicago Rawhide he is in process of bringing additional business and technology classes into Hobart.
We will also have with us that evening two Lean Enterprise experts, Mark Nash of Argent and Gerry Raubach of Industrial Solutions. They will be presenting an overview of the lean process and its value to manufacturers of all kinds and sizes. Mark and Gerry train companies around the world in the Lean Enterprise.
As a high volume manufacturer of seals for the automotive industry, Chicago Rawhide has embraced the lean process to help make significant productivity improvements at their facility. They employee about 250 people in an industry where they are under constant pressure to reduce price and improvequality, delivery and service. This is an excellent opportunity to learn from and see a progressive, high volume manufacturing facility in operation.
I look forward to seeing you at the meeting. If you have any questions or need further information please contact Paul Walenciak at 580 774-7071.
