The Business Demographic Series: SOIC Demographic (0.4 mb PDF)

This newsletter report highlights the demographic profiles of counties included in Southwest Oklahoma Impact Coalition (SOIC). There are four sections in this report, which are comprised of Personal Income, Employment, and Farm Income; Demographic Characteristic; Economic Characteristic; and Social Characteristic. Data was obtained from the Regional Economic Information System (REIS) 2006 database, and the U.S. Census Bureau, Census 2000. All statistics data are presented in table format.

The Center for Economic and Business Development is proud to announce the release of our Business Development Series: Trade Pull Factors (0.7 mb PDF) publication that reports the trade pull factors of Oklahoma's seventy-seven counties and the trade pull factors of fifty Oklahoma communities.

HUB Zone: Historically Underutilized Business Zone Program

The HUB Zone program provides federal contracting assistance for qualified small business concerns located in historically underutilized business zones (HUB Zones). The law was created in an effort to increase employment opportunities, investment, and economic development in those areas, long neglected as potential business sites. The law requires that 3 percent of all federal contract funding be directed towards a HUB Zone certified business. Although the percentage seems small, this equals $6 billion in set aside monies going toward HUB Zone Small Business. More Information...
