University Academic Signature
The Southwestern Oklahoma State University academic signature consists of three elements: the SWOSU logotype as the dominant element set in the Boston font, the Southwestern Oklahoma State University logotype underneath it set in the Arial font, and the gray swoosh around the "O".
The signature serves to represent the university in all forms of communications. The signature, by design, is to be used as one unit. The logotypes and symbol mark (swoosh) are never to be used alone.
All materials produced by the university will prominently and correctly display the signature. Campus units cannot substitute another typeface (font) or another symbol.
History
The official graphic signature created in 2002 embodies the modern culture of the university, emphasizing the name revision from Southwestern, as sometimes identified with the "SW" mark, to SWOSU ("SWAH-SU"). The symbolic "swoosh" in the "O" stands for motion, moving forward with the times.
