Library Instruction Services - Faculty
Goals and Objectives of Library Instruction

The Library Instruction Team has developed a three-tier instruction program that provides students with mastery of increasingly complex information literacy skills. The program includes specific objectives, learning goals, and performance indicators based upon the Association of College and Research Libraries' Information Literacy Competency Standards for Higher Education.

Scheduling Library Instruction

SWOSU faculty and high school school teachers can use the online request form to schedule library instruction (links below). Submitting the Request Form does not guarantee that the time and date you requested will be available. A librarian will contact you to confirm whether your requested date and time is available. SWOSU courses have priority over other instruction requests.

Submit your library instruction request at least one week prior to the requested date. The more lead time we have, the more likely you'll get the date you requested. Check the Library Instruction Calendar for available dates and times.

Instruction can also be scheduled by contacting Jason Dupree at (580)774-3031 or jason.dupree@swosu.edu.

Please contact the librarian teaching your course if you are unable to keep your appointment.

Librarians are assigned to instruct as our schedules allow. We're happy to discuss instruction options and help you select resources that are relevant to your course. We'll do our best to honor requests for a specific librarian.

Library Instruction Room Guidelines

SWOSU faculty should review the usage guidelines for the Library Instruction Room. These guidelines detail the equipment and software available, classroom capacity, usage, and instructor's responsibilities.
