Linda Schaefer is an instructor in the Department of Communication at East Central University. With ECU students Jarrod Doyal and Luke Cypert, she recently traveled to India, where she documented their travels through stories and images. The photo and video exhibition Passage to India: Finding Compassion on the Streets of Kolkata will be displayed at SWOSU.
She is the author of Come and See: A Photojournalist's Journey into the World of Mother Teresa. Ms. Schaefer was the last professional to be granted full access to the late Nobel Prize winner. A former CNN editor and photojournalist, her work has appeared in Time, the New York Times, and the Washington Post. She's produced photo essays on tribal peoples of the Amazon and street children in Rio de Janeiro. Currently, her work is on display at the Mabee-Gerrer Museum in Shawnee, OK.
