Jana Lou Scott Memorial Endowment Established at SWOSU

06.19.2018 - The late Jana Lou Scott (May 7, 1937 – February 28, 2018) served over three decades on the faculty of Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) in Weatherford, including 16 years as chair of the Department of Education.

Event Center Director Speaks to State Regents about Fire Incident Command Center

06.12.2018 - Nate Downs, director of the Pioneer Cellular Event Center on the Southwestern Oklahoma State University campus in Weatherford, was recently invited to speak to the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education about SWOSU’s efforts with the huge Rhea Fire that burned over 285,000 acres in western Oklahoma in April-May.

Wildfire Relief Executive Order Signed by Lt. Governor

04.16.2018 - Oklahoma Lieutenant Governor Todd Lamb, serving as acting governor on April 16, signed an executive order lifting weight and oversize restrictions on vehicles in order to bring in larger equipment and supplies for wildfire relief (utility repairs, feed, fuel and food) in western Oklahoma.
