Alexander Wins Miss Southwestern Pageant

Alexander won the title among 12 contestants at Saturday’s (October 16) pageant held at SWOSU in Weatherford. Megan Alexander of Perkins is the new Miss Southwestern and will represent Southwestern Oklahoma State University at next summer’s Miss Oklahoma Pageant.
Alexander won the title among 12 contestants at Saturday’s (October 16) pageant held at SWOSU in Weatherford. She won a $2,100 scholarship.
Alexander is a junior majoring in music therapy. She sang I Left You There for the talent portion of the contest, and her platform issue is “Heart of Hope.”
Caitlin Hicks of Weatherford finished as first runnerup. Hicks won a $1,100 scholarship. The sophomore also won the Talent Award for her vocal solo and the Peer Leadership Award, which is voted on by the contestants.
Other top finishers were: Lauren Johnson, Yukon junior, second runnerup, $700 scholarship; Holly Bullington, Gould freshman, third runnerup, $600 scholarship; and Ranee Young, Sentinel sophomore, fourth runnerup and physical fitness/swimsuit competition winner, $500 scholarship.
Brittany Moody of Oklahoma City (PC North) won the “Most Tickets Sold” Award and Bullington won the “Most Ads Sold” Award. All of the non-finalists each won $150 scholarships.
