Debate on Legalization of Marijuana Coming to SWOSU

February 3, 2005

A debate on the legalization of marijuana will take place at Southwestern Oklahoma State University on Tuesday, February 15, as part of the university’s Panorama series.

Bob Stutman and Steve Hager will debate the issue at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center on the Weatherford campus. Admission is free, and the public is invited.

Stutman is a 25-year veteran of the D.E.A., rising through the ranks and retiring as head of the New York office, the world’s largest. He has been called “the most famous NARC in America” by the New York Times. He appears regularly on national TV as a drug expert for both PBS and CBS.

Hager was editor-in-chief of High Times Magazine for 15 years and founded The Cannabis Cup, the “academy awards” of marijuana.

For additional information about the debate, call the SWOSU Public Relations & Marketing Office at (580) 774-3063.

One more Panorama event will take place during the spring semester. Drum Drum, a contemporary Pacific music and dance group from Australia, will perform on April 7 at 7:30 p.m. at the SWOSU Fine Arts Center. Tickets for the event go on sale February 16. Ticket prices are $5 in advance for SWOSU students, $10 in advance for non-SWOSU students and $15 for all tickets at the door.
