SWOSU Faculty Receive Promotions, Tenure
Eight Southwestern Oklahoma State University faculty members on the Weatherford campus were awarded promotions, and four faculty members received tenure at the April meeting of the Board of Regents of Oklahoma Colleges.
The changes are effective for the 2005-06 academic year, according to SWOSU President John Hays.
Three were promoted to professor from associate professor, including Dr. Viki Craig and Dr. Valerie Reimers, both in the Department of Language Arts; and Dr. Shelly Prince, College of Pharmacy.
Four were promoted to associate professor from assistant professor, including Dr. Arden Aspedon, School of Allied Health Sciences; Dr. Mary Aspedon, Department of Education; Dr. Lisa Boggs, Department of Biology; and Dr. Chelsea Church, College of Pharmacy.
Dr. Chad Kinder of the Department of Parks/Recreation Management was promoted to assistant professor from instructor.
The faculty members who received tenure are Dr. Arden Aspedon, Department of Allied Health Sciences; Dr. Mary Aspedon, Department of Education; Dr. Chelsea Church, College of Pharmacy; and Dr. Michael Dougherty, Department of Mathematics.
